TRUMP KNOWS KENYAN MCDUFFIE WON'T STAND UP TO HIM

Jos Williams, Chair of Safe & Affordable DC and former president of the DC-Metro Labor Council of the AFL-CIO released the following statement:

“Trump’s comments make clear that he’d rather have Kenyan McDuffie in the mayor’s office than Janeese Lewis George. DC workers understand why: Trump sees McDuffie as someone he can control. McDuffie has taken thousands in donations from Trump donors that he’s refused to return. McDuffie  has spent his career cozying up to business interests, steering contracts to companies tied to his family and former staff, and selling out working families to Pepco. He’s campaigned more like a Republican than a Democrat, and has shown himself unfit to serve as DC’s next mayor.“The people who live and work in DC are what make our city great. We cannot afford to be ruled by fear and division. We need a mayor who will stand firm and fight for democracy, home rule, and the dignity of the people who call the District home. That person is Janeese Lewis George, and Donald Trump knows it.”

To date, McDuffie has refused to return donations from 26 MAGA donors, who gave at least $271,025.00 to Trump. McDuffie has said he’s “open to working with” the Trump administration and failed to join other Council members to protest Trump’s occupation of DC at the Capitol.”
